Villa Serena is Ready for Spring!

 

We are all ready to come out of our winter hibernation and enjoy all of the great things that the spring season has in store for us!

 

We kicked off the spring season a little early with a

Spring Fling Party!

 

 

We had an awesome lunch with a medallion of beef tenderloin in a creamy mushrooms sauce. A hearty baked potato with all the fixin's and fresh asparagus with hollandaise sauce. We also had shrimp scampi and fettuccini alfredo. Yummy!

 

And to top it all off we were treated to a presentation of flambeed cherries jubilee served with vanilla ice cream!!

 

 

So mouth wateringly sweet!

 

The whole meal time we were serenaded by beautiful music from

Al Fabrizio on his Mandolin

 

Everyone received a special scratch card!

Gail has a huge smile because her and her husband switched scratcher cards and she won a $10 Chili's Gift Card and he got M&M's. She may be nice and treat him to dinner out though.

Happy Valentine's Day!

 

Our sweet residents received sweet treats.

 

Everyone was given a handmade Hershey's Kiss rose, a bag full of conversation hearts, a special little poem and a trivia activity sheet.

Our very own Genius Gene took two great games and tailored them into one fantastic new game!

Gene merged Golf and Pool

 

 and came up with:

 

We almost left Gene's wife Helen at the dollar store when we were getting supplies!

Good thing she had a good grip of things.

 

 

We have fun tweaking the game and coming up with new configurations.

 

Gene has also been working on a new game for spring where he’s thinking about a mash-up of croquet and golf.

Graton Casino Trip

Graton Casino Trip

 

We set out for the new

Graton Casino and Resort

in hopes of brining home some big bucks!

 

We had a lovely drive from Santa Clara to Sonoma County and we even had the chance to go across the Golden Gate Bridge.

 

 

The sites were awesome but we did play some trivia games to keep us occupied too! 

 

 

 

 

 We have our rewards cards

and we are ready to play!

 

 Thankfully there were people there to help us learn the how the newer machines worked. 

 

We got into the swing of things quickly though!

 

Woohoo! Up $92 bucks and climbing!

 

You can see the smile on Julius's face right next to his earning amount!

 

Some played the slots. 

 

 

Some liked the video poker.

And some even tried their hand at the card tables.

 

Everyone tried the different types of food they had to offer. either the food court or some even used some of their earnings and treated themselves to one of the nice restaurants!

 

And when people were feeling a little tired they relaxed in the lounge area.

 

 

Not everyone went home with extra cash in their pockets but everyone went home with a smile on their face.
